Frankincense opens with a warm, resinous quiet that has a settling quality without being heavy. Lavender comes in soft and familiar underneath it, green and faintly herbal, the lavender that smells like the actual plant rather than the candle version. Roman chamomile adds something almost sweet and apple-like, gentle and rounded, the kind of note that asks nothing of you. Sweet orange closes the whole thing out with a clean citrus brightness that keeps it from going too deep or too still. Soothing. Gentle. Settled.

The frankincense is Boswellia carterii, steam-distilled from resin tapped by hand in Somalia. The lavender is grown and steam-distilled on our high desert farm in Central Oregon, harvested at the peak of summer. The chamomile is Anthemis nobilis, Roman chamomile, grown and distilled in the United States. The sweet orange is cold-pressed from Brazilian peel.
